Ancascocha trek: This is a new hike which runs through the Andes mountains in Cusco region, this trekking took the name from a lake Named ANCASCOCHA “Ancas = Blue; Cocha, Qocha = lake), which is located at 4.000 m above sea level, formed by the melting water of the Huayanay glacier mountain “5,750 m”, at 60 km on straight line from Cusco region, a hike which is organized by only few operators, using several trails, where our itinerary is one of the best.
On this trek, you have the opportunity to enjoy walking by an old, and amazing inca trail, that once used to connect to Machu Picchu, it is the part which is not part of the classic 4 days Inca path to Machu Picchu.
The Ancascocha trek leads by the highland territories where you can get completely in touch with the nature, and enjoy magnificent views of mounts such as Salkantay, Humantay, Huayanay, Waccay Willka “veronica”, see canyons, high valleys and of course see the Ancascocha lake.
The hike ends in the sacred valley, from where we take you back to cusco city, with an optional extension to the famous inca stones quarry, and / or to Machu Picchu.
This trek, provides great opportunity to observe Andean foxes, the Andean condors, eagles, falcons, and several variety of small birds, where our expert local guides will lead you by our exclusive itinerary where by at least 90% of our itinerary, you will not see any other hikers. Our expert local guides fluent in English will lead you for an amazing memory.
